ACC Naturale Architettura and Negozio Blu conceived a symbolic Nzeb architecture to give shape to this strategic vision: a highly sustainable building, a manifesto of resilience built with new technologies and natural materials to convey, through architecture, the idea of environment respect.

    ELEMENTerial: Bus stop out of wooden house factory residues

    Tallinn, Estonia
    This small architectural form suggest a possible method or a potential product that would valorise the waste material in timber industry. When cutting out wooden wall elements from plate materials such as CLT (cross-laminated-timber), there are often leftovers like window and door openings. This residual material allows the wood to be seen as mid-scaled building blocks – neither log nor a whole wall, but a new LEGO piece for sustainable zero waste architecture.

    Glue-free wooden social housing

    Weert, Netherlands
    Wonen Limburg installed 16 social housing units made almost entirely of glue-free wood. Even the screws are made of wood. The entirely biologically and technically recyclable homes have a fast production process that uses less CO2 than “traditional” construction, and the wood stores CO2. The houses have a high R-value and a comfortable living environment. The residents experience the homes as calming, and there are good acoustics.     "Bikes and rails", a new type of sustainable and cooperative social housing

    As part of the subsidized Viennese housing project, the community of residents created a multi-storey wooden house that gives the district a social boost. The administration is carried out jointly. It is a passive house that is supplied from passive solar use, PV and urban district heating. Instead of a car garage, there is a garage for bicycles. A new type of financing model makes the project accessible to people without capital and removes the building from the market and speculation.

    The Wadden Sea Centre is contextual architecture under demanding conditions. It interprets traditional building techniques and conveys the importance of protecting one of the world's largest tidal areas. The building arises from a landscape characterized by endless horizontal lines, secluded farmhouses, and a relentless Western wind. In form and materiality, the Wadden Sea Centre is both a continuation and an interpretation of the place and the traditional thatched houses connected to the area.

    BUGA Wood Pavilion

    Innovative, Lightweight, Sustainable and Fully Reuseable Segmented Wood Shell Structure

    Heilbronn, Germany
    The BUGA Wood Pavilion celebrates a new approach to digital timber construction. The stunning wooden roof spans 30 meters over a public event area, using a minimum amount of material while also generating a unique architectural space. The pavilion was developed by a interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, scientists, craft and public stakeholders. Due to its innovative building system it can be fully reassembled at a new location and completely recycled at the structures end-of-life.
