    To respond to the urgent need to build affordable housing in large numbers, Vilogia, historic social landlord of the North of France, was inspired by what the brilliant engineer and architect Jean Prouvé had thought before everyone else: to build houses like we build cars. Two metal pavilions were built as prototypes and demonstrate that industrial design can be beautiful, affordable and sustainable.

    Urban housing heated and cooled carbon-neutrally and nearly without costs

    On three sites, three teams of architects created an attractive, homogeneous urban arrangement with open spaces, courtyards with edible plants and a spacious community garden. The project is a contribution to the energy revolution in the climate crisis and to climate change adaptation. 100 % renewable energy, using geothermal heat and thermal component activation as storage, leads to extremely cost-efficient heating and cooling temperature control with low primary energy consumption.

    Hammarby Sjöstad’s old industrial neighborhood is home to Trikåfabriken, a 25,000 square meter office building that exemplifies how contemporary architecture can link the past to the present while adding a new layer to the city. The original brick building from 1928 forms the ground floor and to this beautiful example of an early-twentieth-century industrial building, we have added a worthy, sympathetic and contemporary five-story addition with a wooden frame and a Corten steel roof and façade.

    APROP is an affordable, sustainable, fast and high-quality housing programme providing evicted households with emergency accommodation in their own neighbourhood. A lightweight, dry, modular and reversible construction system using reused shipping containers has been specially conceived to achieve high rates of energy efficiency and excellent architectural standards. The first APROP is already in operation in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona while two other buildings are currently under construction.

    Spatium: The habitat 76 head offices and the Social Housing Greenhouse for quality of life at work

    Habitat 76 employees have recently moved into a new head office, a sort of “bubble” in the city which offers exemplary quality of life at work. It was designed with employee input while promoting collaborative innovation and respecting social housing values. The spaces have exceptional lighting and a view of the city, alternating between coworking spaces and spaces for individual reflection. Environmentally friendly, the building complies with PassivHaus label requierements.

    We transformed a communist type school building whilst creating a “manual” for hundreds of similar schools in our region. Transformation is both ideological and physical. Architecture is based on the concept multiplication, communication with all the communities involved, uncovering the old and honest, recycling & upcycling combined with new technologies, arts & crafts shared with young generation, economy, phasing and respect to the values of the 21.st century education.
