    All-natural off-grid mobile round house ("upgraded yurt" sparingly using resources)

    In a beautiful place out in the country, in wineyards near forests, we built an all-natural removable mobile round house ("upgraded yurt") that is not firmly attached to the ground and is not connected to any utilities. It's fully off-grid and self-sufficient. The electricity is generated by the low-budget high-economy solar system for no more than 1000 EUR. A composting separation toilet is included. It's standing here for almost 5 years already and we are living here daily for 2 years.

    In 2017 TalTech demonstrated how to reach nearly Zero Energy Building performance by applying prefabricated deep renovation technology on a five-storey apartment building in Tallinn. By now the project has served as a proof of concept for prefabricated renovation solutions in policy, production and design. The project has boosted uptake of the technology, led the way for a grant scheme replicating industrialized renovation and served as a showcase for various stakeholders for knowledge exchange.

    Thermal activated Headquarter

    13.500m² heating and cooling with 12.000€ per year

    The new headquarters building was constructed with innovative technologies for heating and cooling the office, showroom and storage areas as a lighthouse project for the whole industry. The use of a geothermal probe field for heating the building by means of optimally dimensioned brine/water heat pumps and for passive cooling enables extremely low energy costs. A photovoltaic system covers the electricity demand for the building services and ensures the CO2-free operation of the plant.

The sense of smell is used to help the consumer to identify the raw material of bioplastics and to convey the material lifecycle with a unqiue smell. The developed fragances are an additional identifier of the material origin and applied in interior design and architecture.
