II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Please provide a summary of your concept/ idea
In my first video, "01 | Why a channeln of architecture, accesibility and neuroarchitecture" I explain the reasons that led me to do it: The digital transformation has caused many people, not just young people, to use the internet as a way of learning. Also, social media is the broadest way to reach everyone. With SUArquitectura, I have wanted to take advantage of all my knowledge, scientific research and work experience in architecture, urban planning, inclusion, sustainability and science to: - Citizens demand an interdisciplinary design from the people who build their space, their lives that takes into account that architecture has evolved and that it must take into account sustainability, accessibility, the influence of design on the brain (in how we behave and in our health). In short: to improve our quality of life. People must know what they can demand. - Designers, technicians, architects ... learn new solutions, see architecture as an element that works transversally with other disciplines and learn from the mistakes we make on the streets, in green spaces, in buildings ... (In the end, it is what I analyze in the videos: successes and errors). - Finally, the only thing I want is to reach everyone to see the realities which are hidden. People we do not take into account in the design. Designs that eliminate green spaces and thus influence the psychocognitive deterioration of people. Designs that must think about sustainability but understand the hypersensitivity of people. A través de mis videos quiero dar voz a mucha gente, quiero enseñar una nueva forma de ver la arquitectura, que avancemos y que tengamos en cuenta que el triángulo sostenibilidad-estética-inclusión es parte del diseño para todas las personas. And I'll keep posting videos!
Please give information about the key objectives of your concept/idea in terms of sustainability and how these would be met
Environmental sustainability refers to ways of structuring human activities that guarantee the biosphere’s preservation resources and their quality over time. In an urban context, environmental sustainability is linked to local development policies that guarantee equitable access to public services while minimizing the impact on the ecological environment. Local environmental sustainability is obtained through the efficient use of resources, proper waste management and the promotion of environmentally-friendly citizen behaviors. So, in my objectives are explain: 1. Sustainability depends on the human-natural environment relationship. In some videos, related to the urban environment, I talk about the importance of creating sustainable spaces for the conservation of biodiversity and for the well-being of people's health. In that sense, in a video I have talked about the importance of a sustainable green environment, without pollution: organic accessibility. 2. The objective of the cities of the future is to reduce energy consumption, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and increase the well-being of citizens. Many people say that these city models are designed to detect the needs of citizens, reacting to their demands. But, my idea is that the question is, of all citizens? In most of the videos, I insist that the environment we live in affects our health. The estimated figures of people with organic and / or sensory diversities due to environmental contamination do not stop growing, and entities such as the WHO (World Health Organization) do not stop warning about it. 3. That is why I try to explain, through the person and the damage caused by pollution, how to achieve a more sustainable world starting from the same thing: living beings.. In future videos, through projects that have to do with the Environment, I will explain the relationship between sustainability and organic accessibility. Of the health of the planet and the person.
Please give information about the key objectives of your concept/idea in terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality and how these would be met
In my videos I explain architecture from accessibility and universal design. In the video "02 | Concepts" I explain the concepts of accessibility, ergonomics and universal design.I explain that for something to be accessible, it does not have to be orthopedic if it is projected from the beginning with this idea: Universal Design. Universal design is a relatively new concept, which directs its actions to the development of products and environments that are easily accessible to as many people as possible, without the need to adapt or redesign them in a special way: so, aesthetic design. Solve the problem with a holistic vision, starting from the idea of human diversity. In addition, I explain that the aesthetics of designs can always be present if the 7 principles of Universal Design are met: 1. Equal use: the design must be user-friendly and suitable for all people regardless of their abilities and skills. 2. Flexibility: the design must be able to accommodate a wide range of individual preferences and abilities. 3. Simple and intuitive: the design should be easy to understand regardless of the user's experience, knowledge, skills or level of concentration. 4. Easy-to-perceive information: the design must be capable of exchanging information with the user, regardless of the environmental conditions or the user's sensory capabilities. 5. Tolerant to errors: the design must minimize accidental or fortuitous actions that can have fatal or unintended consequences. 6. Low physical effort: the design must be able to be used effectively and with the least possible effort. 7. Appropriate dimensions: sizes and spaces must be appropriate for the user's reach, handling, and use, regardless of size, position, and mobility. My followers on social networks know this is possible because through videos, stories, publications... I show my designs and all of them are accessible, functional and aesthetic.
Please give information about the key objectives of your concept/idea in terms of inclusion and how these would be been met
As I have said, I wanted to take advantage of my knowledge as a specialist in universal accessibility and my professional experience working with people with functional diversity so that everyone is aware of reality. Also, that designers adopt new visions and ways of approaching architecture. Those people with the greatest needs, who are excluded from society because of bad design, know what tools they have at their fingertips through my videos. And of course, all those videos I try to talk about equality between people and an architecture that thinks of everyone. In this sense, the video “09 | Capacitismo" ”explains the differences between integration in the design of people with diversity and inclusion (which should be the goal: inclusion). I design from universal accessibility, from design for all people and that is what I explain with each video.
Please explain the innovative character of your concept/ idea
I think the innovation is in taking advantage of the Internet to be a "teacher" of a type of architecture that has little visibility. In recent years, many channels have been created on beauty tips, fashion, video games ... but not on architecture for all people. Sometimes we architects are selfish and do not want to share everything we know. Since I was little I have been learned in architecture but also in health sciences. So, I think that is my innovation: A new vision of architecture, through its relationship with the health sciences. Because this relationship influences the result of design aesthetics, sustainability and, of course, the inclusion of all people.I believe that I have created an interdisciplinary educational model that integrates all the values that the New Bauhaus represents. And, of course, in an accessible way: using the internet, a platform where I can share everything I know with everyone.
Please detail the plans you have for the further development, promotion and/or implementation of your concept/idea, with a particular attention to the initiatives to be taken before May 2022
My main idea is to continue creating videos that address architecture from accessibility, neuroarchitecture, sustainability, neurology ... At the moment, it is a little known channel, with followers from Spain and Latin America especially. Because of it, I speak in Spanish. However, among my future plans are: - Get a greater visualization of the educational videos so that people know what I do and be able to hold conferences, congresses ... in different universities (not only of architecture) to explain how accessible, sustainable and aesthetic design is approachable from any discipline: computing, architecture, journalism ... - The promotion of videos in the academic field is another of my main objectives. Before the pandemic, I celebrate awareness days with children in schools, institutes ... promoting the values of my videos. The teachers realized the need to spread my idea. Therefore, when the pandemic is under control, my intention is to carry out workshops with children again, in person or online. - Also I worked and I'm going to work with the institutions, because they are the ones who create the norms so that architecture can reach that triangle. (I'm going to add photos of this events). - An objective that I may not be able to meet before May 2022, but that I would like, is for my educational model not only to be viewed by people from Spain or Latin America. Greater European or global demand would lead me to make the videos in the universal language: English. For this reason, I want to continue developing and promoting what I do. I think the New Bauhaus is a good way to reach the whole world.
