lounge chair that becomes desk chair
Description
The Hybrid Chair can quickly transform from a desk chair into a lounge chair and the other way around. By lowering the seat, an ergonomic relaxing position with armrests appears. Pull the seat up and the chair slides into a horizontal position, perfect to sit at a table. The Hybrid Chair is therefore the ideal mix for people who do not want two separate chairs or simply do not have the space for it.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Please provide a summary of your project
The Hybrid Chair is a lounge chair can quickly transform into a desk chair and the other way around. In the upright position, the Hybrid Chair is ideal to sit at a table or desk. The clever constructed frame lets the user lower the chair that sits in a slightly backwards angle. This position is ideal to relax in an ergonomic angle of the perfect lounge chair. The Hybrid Chair is designed for people who do not want two separate chairs or simply do not have the space for it, but still want the comfort of a relaxing and active seating position. The frame of the Hybrid Chair is made of solid oak, and carefully handcrafted in the Netherlands. There are two options of the Hybrid Chair; Comfort and Deluxe. The Comfort can be set manually in the top and bottom position, while the Deluxe option is driven by a pneumatic piston that can be set on any height. The user can even stay seated while lowering the Deluxe Hybrid Chair.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of sustainability and how these have been met
A growing number of people move to cities and live in smaller spaces. To still accommodate for a great living environment where there are different seating options, we have created the Hybrid chair. One piece of furniture which can be a lounge chair of desk chair. This saves the space for two chairs, but more importantly, the resources for one extra chair. So all material, transport and pollution of one chair is simply saved.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality and how these have been met
The chair had to fit perfect in a wide range of interiors. The design is inspired by mid-century lounge chairs that often contained a solid wooden frame and an upholstered soft seat.
Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of inclusion and how these have been met
The chair had to fit perfectly to all different body posture, so the shape was researched and the optimal dimensions were extracted and implemented into the design.
Please give information on the results/impacts achieved by your project in relation to the category you apply for
The modularity of the chair is that it is adaptable to the need of the user and there will be much more scenarios where it can be used, compared to a normal chair.
Please explain the way citizens benefiting from or affected by the project and civil society have been involved in the project and what has been the impact of this involvement on the project
By getting one chair, a citizen simply saves a lot of resources to be used. On top of that, all materials can be recycled and are locally sourced.
Please highlight the innovative character of the project
Just two chairs in-one
Please explain how the project led to results or learnings which could be transferred to other interested parties
