The Revincus system - decentralized wastewater heat recovery
Description
The Revincus-System is a novel process in the field of graywater heat recovery. Before the graywater produced in the household is fed unused into the wastewater networks, the Revincus system extracts the heat energy from the graywater. This recovered energy can be reused via various media (e.g. drinking water or heating water). The Revincus system can thus, for example, almost completely recover the energy accumulated for heating drinking water.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Please provide a summary of your concept/ idea
Every day, around 75 liters of energetically usable gray water are produced per person in Germany, e.g. through showering, bathing and hand washing, as well as through the use of washing machines or dishwashers - on a cruise ship, this figure is up to 300 liters per person. Before the graywater produced in the household is discharged unused into the wastewater networks, the Revincus system extracts the thermal energy from the graywater. Using innovative hardware and energy management software, the thermal energy is extracted from the wastewater and returned to the house via various liquid media such as drinking water or heating water. The Revincus system is a storage heat exchanger for wastewater and can be combined with other energy systems like (e.g.) solar thermal or heat pumps.

The warm water, which is only "used" for a short time, contains a high energy potential that is discharged unused into the wastewater networks. The negative impact on the environment and resources has been enormous for decades and has so far been insufficiently addressed. By setting up a test system twice, we were able to prove its functionality. Decentralized wastewater heat recovery is to be made public through the Revincus system. The Revincus system represents the first economical wastewater heat exchanger for single and multi-family houses and can thus contribute to energy savings in buildings across the board. Energy-efficient construction and renovation is one of the most important components of the future and is driven by innovations such as the Revincus system.  
Please give information about the key objectives of your concept/idea in terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality and how these would be met
The Revincus system helps to improve the quality of life. On the one hand, buildings become more energy efficient and thus more environmentally friendly, and on the other hand, there is a reduction in utility costs due to the energy savings. The Revincus system belongs to the category of sustainable building technology and can thus be subsidized by KFW or BAFA. In this way, grants and credit opportunities are made available through the use of sustainable building technology such as the Revincus system in construction projects. The Revincus system consists of standardized materials that are largely recyclable. The tank system will stand out from existing building technology, yet integrate unobtrusively.
Please give information about the key objectives of your concept/idea in terms of inclusion and how these would be been met
Graywater is the non-faecally contaminated wastewater. Through the Revincus system, the former waste product wastewater is included in the overall energy concept of buildings as a valuable commodity (thermal energy).
Please explain the innovative character of your concept/ idea
The Revincus system fills an innovation gap by recovering unused wastewater heat energy and returning it to buildings. There are currently no comparable systems on the market that address the entire wastewater or its thermal energy. Through innovative hardware and the use of energy management software, the Revincus system efficiently stratifies according to temperatures generated. These temperatures can be transferred to other media and used as needed. Thus, the Revincus system creates a variety of potential uses and support areas of other sustainable building technology.

After Revincus GmbH was founded on 07.01.2020 and the first financing round was successfully completed, we are now in the final R&D phase. The goal is to publicize decentralized wastewater heat recovery as a comprehensive countermeasure to the greatest challenge of our generation - climate change.
