Description

Porcelain light tiles are a unique solution of the author, where LED light elements are embedded under the porcelain tile, thus making the wall with tile covering in a large light element. Porcelain tiles are made in specific technique, as a result, the tile becomes very transparent, thus allowing light to easily pass through the tile. The tile solution is intended for decorative interior solutions.

Porcelain light tiles are a unique solution of the author, where LED light elements are embedded under the porcelain tile, thus making the wall with tile covering in a large light element. Porcelain tiles are made in specific technique, as a result, the tile becomes very transparent, thus allowing light to easily pass through the tile. 

Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of sustainability and how these have been met

Unlike other materials, ceramic tiles are environmentally friendly as far as natural minerals are used in their production. Thanks to the glaze, porcelain tiles do not lose their material quality in the long run.  

Please give information about the key objectives of your project in terms of aesthetics and quality of experience beyond functionality and how these have been met

The tile solution is intended for decorative interior solutions. A brand new aesthetic approach to interior decoration. The functionality is that LED lights are used, which consume very little electricity and no additional lighting is required for the room. As well as glazed tiles are easy to clean.

At this stage, production is based on individual orders, in the future it is planned to create a permanent brand.

In ceramic elements as a decorative interior element I have been interested for a long time, and several concepts have been developed so far, now those searches and solutions has crystallized in this product.

Please explain the way citizens benefiting from or affected by the project and civil society have been involved in the project and what has been the impact of this involvement on the project

As production capacity increase, it is planned to attract people with disabilities, thus giving job to the most vulnerable members of society.

Please highlight the innovative character of the project

Decorative porcelain tile lighting solutions are a brand new and unprecedented method of interior decoration, which provides fundamentally new possibilities for ensuring the comfort of apartments and the aesthetic well-being of residents.

Please explain how the project led to results or learnings which could be transferred to other interested parties

I assume, for new students in the ceramics industry, projects of this kind show how extensive the ceramics industry is and encourage them try to think outside the classical dogmatics.
